This is not your average side-o'-the-road rest stop. I was able to get a decent Slim Jim and a bottle of water at a fair price ... but that's something you could do just about anywhere. The place gets a plus for the vintage, black-and-white movie star portraits on the wall; and a minus for not having prices on anything. A plus for having a friendly staff; and a minus for not having a Coca-Cola slurpee. But what sets this place apart are the shower, lounge and laundry services advertised on the sign. I don't know how much these things cost or how people who drive vehicles with fewer than 18 wheels can take advantage of them. But it's certainly worth an inquiry.
Well my husband is spending the night here tonight in his big truck. He had a burger with fries which he said was great, the burger was big around and had plenty of tomato and lettuce, the fries were more than plentiful. With a drink it was less than $7.00. He says the place is clean and the people are polite. He is on his way to hit the showers now. It is great that a place caters to truckers and is out of the run of the mill truck stops. I hope others find out about this place soon and enjoy the 50's style atmosphere including old pictures of cars.
